Edith is a girl in her mid-teens living in a Still-On-Earth futuristic time period. (So, high tech stuff like flying cars, but no aliens or interstellar travel.) She's a martial arts pro along with her older brother whom she had always looked up to and did everything with. Her family has been on the run from a corrupted general who is after an invention of her father's. (disguised, self-activation armor that responds to stress) With which, he plans to enhance the military and use it for "World Domination" of sorts.
Edith's mom, who had taught her and her brother martial arts, dies early on to protect them. Over the years afterwards, the father develops the armor he had invented for his kids to wear for their own protection in their travels.
Years later, the general finds and captures the whole family. Edith and her brother escape with their new armor, but the father is regrettably left behind.

Soon after, the brother also loses his life and both children are discovered in fatal circumstances by a military scout. Edith is then taken to a military base for medical assistance where she befriends the colonel's daughter. Edith recovers, but is forbidden from leaving the base without giving information about herself, how her brother died and how two unauthorized teenagers were in possession of an unregistered military aircraft. During which time, the general catches up. Taking the colonel's daughter (Edith's new friend) along as leverage, Edith is returned to the general's command center where she is forced under experimentation for the armor. Edith finds her father there, still alive, even if not in the best health. Determined to protect her father and her new friend, she exposes the general's true plan for the military and faces him in single combat. (Still trying to figure out a real conclusive ending)
Sorry if this starts getting repetitive for you, Tom, but the colored one is the final design I myself had come up with for the main character, Edith. The scans are some of the preliminary sketches I had done along the way. I have a whole lot more I can show you in my sketchbooks next time.
