SCRIPT

EXTERIOR CLIFFSIDE - DAY/EVENING 

Hero: Adult woman. Skilled warrior. Carries a spear. 

Hero is climbing very tall cliff with jagged rocks.  She slips and falls as some rocks come loose and she catches herself before falling to her death.  She reaches the top of the cliff and sees the doorway to an ancient temple built into the mountain side. We see a wide shot of the landscape with her standing on the cliff (Shot resembles a jigsaw puzzle). Insert title. She walks toward the entrance and notices the intricate designs and patterns on the entryway.

INTERIOR CORRIDOR

Hero enters the temple and walks through a corridor with tall columns aligning the walls. She walks past a stone statue whose eyes mysteriously light up and a shadowy darkness emerges from the statue and follows her without making its presence known.

INTERIOR TESSELATION / LAVA ROOM

Hero enters the next room where lava separates her from the next doorway. She sees a big round platform with an intricate pattern sitting in the middle of lava. She jumps onto the platform and it immediately starts to shake and the pieces of the platform come apart. As the pieces start to sink and separate, she makes her way across, hopping on each one getting closer to the adjacent platform using her spear. She makes a final leap and barely hooks on to the ledge with her spear hook. She climbs up and makes her way into the doorway. The Shadow is seen slipping into the darkness behind her.

INTERIOR STAIRWAY / TEMPLE DRAWINGS

Hero begins ascent up long, tall flight of stairs. She walks past ancient drawings carved into the wall depicting the temple and the treasure it holds. The drawings also depict a temple guardian that has claimed the lives of other warriors. She reaches the top of the stairs and enters another doorway.

INTERIOR COLLAPSING WALLS

Hero enters the room and sees a long tall room with narrow walls. High above on the adjacent wall is a doorway with no apparent way to access it.  Just as a shadowy figure slips into the room behind her, the doorway shuts and pieces of the walls start to move inward closing in on each other like a puzzle. She realizes that she has to begin ascending the moving pieces and exit the opposite door before she is crushed. She quickly jumps from each piece using her spear to aid her. The pieces are closing in on her and catch her cloak, ripping off a corner of it. Just as the pieces start to block her way and collide in front of her she dives through a small opening and narrowly escapes being squished.

INTERIOR TREASURE ROOM

Hero finds herself in the main room of the temple that holds what she has been seeking. The room is circular and is surrounded by tall pillars with a little bit of outside light shining though. In the center is an alter with a glowing object floating in the center of it. She slowly walks toward it. Dark shadows seem to be shifting and gathering behind her as she approaches the glowing object. Consumed by the glory of the treasure, the Hero doesn't notice that large rocks and pieces of broken pillars are enveloping the center of a shadowy mass behind her.  Just as she is about to grab the object, she is struck from behind with a giant rocky fist. She flies through the air and slams into a pillar and falls to the ground. A giant rocky monster is revealed to be the protector of the temples treasure.  He grabs the shiny object and tosses it into his mouth, swallowing it. She throws her spear at him and it ricochets into the air, and sticks into a pillar high above ground. She flips back, dodging another blow from the monster and throws some blades at him to distract him.  The monster knocks her down and picks her up by her cloak. She notices a weak point on the monsters collar bone. Just as he is about to beat her senseless, she clings on to his arm and he swings his fist at nothing. The monster is confused. He drops her and she dives between his legs as the monster stumbles onto his face. She begins climbing a pillar to retrieve her spear. The monster hits the column and it crumbles to the floor. She jumps from each column as the monster topples them and she grabs her spear. Jumping down with a super-attack, she stabs the monster in his weak spot.  The monster explodes in a fury of light. She grabs the piece and it is revealed that is is a jigsaw puzzle piece.

(Alternate) When the monster sneaks up on her the first time, she manages to just barely dodge the blow, but she stumbles from the unexpectedness of it and her cape flies over her head.  Then the monster swallows the treasure, and she throws the spear.  Then she dodges another attack before throwing the knives.  THEN it's the blow that knocks her against the columns and the monster picks her up by her cloak.

After escaping and the monster falls down, she sees her spear and notices the monster getting up and looking absolutely enraged.  she heads for the pillars with the monster in hot pursuit and she climbs up one of them.  The monster hits the pillar, barely missing her as she continues to ascend. 

The column topples as she begins a series of jumps to the next one, circling around to the chamber to her spear.  The monster follows her on the ground, knocking down the pillars, she comes in contact with.  The latest of the pillars he knocks over, falls into the one she's about to jump on.  She loses her footing, but jumps, barely able to grab hold of her spear before that column crumbles entirely and she begins to fall back down towards the monster.  She regains herself though and is able to plunge her spear into the monster's weak spot.

INTERIOR CHILD'S BEDROOM

As the light starts to fade, elements of a child's bedroom are revealed and a small girl is seen holding up the puzzle piece. A jigsaw puzzle sits on the carpet of her messy bedroom and she puts the final piece into the puzzle.  As she revels in the joy of completing the puzzle, she hears her mom calling her for lunch and runs out of the room.
